Stuff Writers Need to Know

Whether you're still struggling to get your first novel completed, or have your publication date already scheduled, you'll benefit from a social media presence. The more you know, the more wisely you'll use your time. Here are a few opportunities to get you started:

Linda Faulkner’s Author Exchange Blog

Montana author Linda Faulkner has long been known for her willingness to promote writers on her Author Exchange Blog. In the past, she featured short announcements and in-depth interviews. This year, her focus has changed. She is now accepting submissions for guest appearances. Check out her submission guidelines and take advantage of Linda’s generous offer.

Backlist eBooks

If you have out of print hardcover and paperback books that you’ve recently e-published in formats for Kindle, Nook, and others, check out Backlist eBooks. Information on how to get your book listed is on the Resources page. There is also a Backlist eBooks FaceBook page where readers and authors can find each other.

Terry’s Place

Coloradoan Terry Odell accepts guest appearances on her blog, Terry’s Place, including Friday Field Trips for the photographers among you. Visit the About Terry’s Place page and follow the instructions to request her submission guidelines.

New Blog Book Tours Class Begins February 1st

Another Coloradoan, Dani Greer, has announced a new online Blog Book Tours class to begin February 1st. The one-month course, conducted in a closed Yahoo! Group, will cost $20.00. As a former student, I assure you you’ll get more than your money’s worth. You must have a blog before you begin. If you visit the Blog Book Tours blog class announcement, you’ll find the link to class sign-up. One of the side benefits of the class is the list of blogger friends you'll make, and the ongoing BBT Cafe Yahoo! Group open to class graduates.

A Tour in Progress

Speaking of Blog Book Tours, Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers member and fantasy author N.R. Williams has launched her virtual tour for The Treasures of Carmelidrium and will be our guest here at Chiseled in Rock next Tuesday. If you're interested in following and earning a chance to win a free e-book, visit Nancy's blog to see her full tour schedule.

Just for you from Pat Stoltey

As always, I discover such interesting links from your posts. I can also confirm the many benefits of going through Dani Greer’s class. I didn’t stick with the daily posts, but I did learn a lot and I still enjoy dropping in on the blogging friends I made.

I took the book tour class just after I started my blog and made a wonderful group of friends there (including Elizabeth and Jane).

Terry and Nancy, you are so welcome.

Hi Margot! Thanks for coming by. I hope you got at least one new link out of this post.
